You should thank me...
...because I'm avoiding homework to write to you, my loyal readers (if such a thing exists...?). Anyway, I'm currently listening to Disc 2 of Red, White, & Crue, a collection of Motley Crue's best songs over the years, plus some new, plus some remixes, so on and so forth. I picked it up at Sam Goody earlier this week (on Wednesday, while I skipped my English class)...I actually went there to see if they had Bionic Jive's Armageddon Through Your Speakers, but they didn't. So after spending 15 minutes or more in the store, I felt stupid for not buying anything.
Then I saw the Motley album and decided to buy it. I mean, why not? I'm going to see them in April, I'm pretty damn excited about it, and it's got tracks on it that I haven't heard/are new/didn't previously have access to. Sure, I could search and search and search...and download and download and download...but I'm far too lazy for that. Plucking down $20 is much easier.
Anyway, I also asked about Bionic Jive and put down $2 on it...and whenever it comes in, they'll gimme a call. See, I never would've told myself to buy this album. I only have one song on my playlist by them and didn't really give a shit about 'em. Went to their Web site for whatever reason, and they had one of those jukebox players with their full album up for preview. And by "preview"...I mean full songs, not 15 second clips. I liked what I heard, so I'm buying it.
Simple.
Moving on...as I said, I skipped my English class on Wednesday. I don't like to skip, but I do it when I have to. And sparingly. It's a very methodical process for me. What happened was, on Monday, they told us to be prepared to discuss our mid-term papers on Wednesday...our mid-term papers that we were supposed to have researched since the beginning of the semester.
Well, this is by far the busiest semester I've ever had, so I haven't had time to bother with bullshit like the "textual conditions" of Emily Dickinson (as you can tell from previous entries, I completely don't give a fuck about the English department anymore). So I didn't go to class, because I didn't have anything to discuss. I still don't exactly have much to talk about, but I think I have a direction I can go now...

It's been a busy week, and it's been a busy semester, and it's going to continue to be that way all the way through it seems. Monday, I was asked if I could trade feature packages for The Amy Stephens Show with another guy, who's much busier than I am. So I said sure. So Tuesday, I spent 45 minutes taping the interview. Then Wednesday, before my CD buying, I edited for an hour. Then after my CD buying, I edited for another 45 minutes.
Now, keep in mind, normally the show is taped Wednesday mornings, but the coach had to roll out to where ever and we (luckily) got bumped back to a Friday morning taping. So I had time to edit. Had it been done on Wednesday morning, I would've had to have edited Tuesday night post-8PM (all the computers were booked up by the Broadcast News students before 8PM) and probably would've worked for a long fucking time on it.
Anyway, so Thursday we had DrakeLINE at 4PM and that didn't go so hot. Typo here, wrong box there. Wrong camera here, director gets lost there. Etc. It wasn't terrible, but it certainly should've been better. After that, I worked from 5:30PM until 9PM on editing that damn package. Finished it, printed it to tape, and watched it back...and it worked fine.
Enter: Friday morning. I show up for taping at the 8AM crew call and apparently my package has audio clipping out in a couple of spots. Um...what??? So the show's producer sits down and she burns it to tape again, we watch it back on TV, and it looks good (just like last night).
After this, we realize there's a set of basketball highlights that haven't been burned to tape, so somebody had to get on that.
Then, just looking around, we realized barely anybody was there...yeesh.
So finally we go in and begin the taping and it comes time for my package and...it clips. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!
On the one hand, at least I know it wasn't necessarily anything I did wrong...but on the other hand, it still just so happens that my package is the only one on the season that's done something that fucked up. Wonderful, eh? And after I put six hours to work into it...my professor will probably look at that, then watch the package, and be like..."You spent six hours doing what???"
And no, it doesn't end there. Friday night, I had to go back to school and shoot a basketball game (including the exhibition season, this was my fourth game). That was long, tiring, and painful (both to watch and to shoot).
I came home and was tired and sore and hungry...but as Tim says about my house, All this food and nothing to eat! Too true. He had given me $10 for dinner, which was cool of him, he's the man...and I stopped at QuikTrip before the game and had a hot dog, a Pepsi Vanilla, and a white chocolate Kit Kat. Nourished me well enough to last during the game, but not afterwards...so I used the other $5 I didn't spend from Tim's $10 and went half-and-half on a pizza with Frankie, which he kindly picked up and brought over.
Then I went to bed and slept for about 13 hours.

Tim's a busy motherfucker too, at least this weekend for sure. He referees basketball games at this sports place around here...like youth leagues and shit...and this weekend alone, he's got like 24 games. He did 5 last night (I think), he's got 8 today (I think), and 11 tomorrow (I think).
He's fucking nuts. $400 (or so) richer...but nuts nonetheless.
In other Tim news, his dumb cunt of a soon-to-be second ex-wife took his name and social security number (and/or whatever else) and got herself a telephone number at her new apartment. She apparently owes $200 under her own name from a few years ago...so she thought she could be slick and use his name.
Well, he found out (however he did that, I don't know the story) and tried to have the phone company cancel it, but they wouldn't do it because he didn't know the address. He told 'em it was bullshit and said that when the bill was overdue, they'd have no problem finding him...said thanks for nothing and hung up on 'em.
So he found out where she lived...lol. He knew it was an eight-plex sorta place at/near the intersection of a couple streets, so being the detective he is, he went and found it...wrote down the address...called the phone company and had the number turned off.
He also set it up so the phone company asks for a password of some sort whenever he (or someone posing as him) tries to set up an account. That way she can't just set it up again, or some other douchebaggery.
A day or two after he shut it off, she sent him an email that said You turned off my phone!!!! He said he was tempted to reply with "Well, no shit!" but he didn't respond with anything.
She's dumb. Like seriously...stupid dumb.

Okay, so I have an 8-page Dickinson mid-term paper. I have a corporate video project that's supposed to be completed by March 1. And I have a rough cut of a digital portfolio (what will be on mine, I have absolutely no fucking clue...seriously) due March 17.
And a trip to Vegas March 11-16.
Ouch.
Now consider the fact that, in addition to these major projects, I also have the daily bullshit: i.e. art assignments, accounting homework, response papers for English, whatever else...add all that up and despite I'm going to Vegas for a week, I'm feeling pretty shitty about it.
What the fuck am I gonna do?? I think - despite the fact I'll be missing a bunch of classes anyway, because of the trip - that I may have to use some more methodical skipping.
Seriously, how am I gonna get everything done? It seems that I have two choices: 1) do it all while I'm on vacation...or 2) deal with it when I get back, but be doubly as busy because I'll be dealing with the current shit that would be going on.
I don't know. I might start telling professors about the trip this week...and maybe see what will be assigned and due that week or immediately after it, so I can work on it in the next couple of weeks...although, ya know, that's just more bullshit I'll have to do.

I've lost interest in typing this. A new Degrassi is on, so screw off...lol.
